FAQ

Name- Gillian "Gill/ Red" Steele

Location- Penrith, Sydney, NSW, Australia

When did you join Weight Watchers- I realised I had been wasting my life; I had been unhappy with body for a long time and decided it was time to make a change and take control of my life.

Which meeting do you weigh in and attend?- I attend Saturday Morning 8am at Penrith

How much weight have you lost so far- In the last 18 weeks I have been on this journey I have lost 15.3kg

Age/ Height / Ethnicity- I am currently 26 years old.  I am 5"4 or 162cm.  I am from an Israeli family.

What is your goal weight?- My personal goal weight is between 60-65kg.  Weight Watchers has my goal weight between 51-60kg, which personally I think is too skinny for me, so I am going to aim for 60-65kg and then re-evaluate.

How long do you think it is going to take to reach your goal weight?- I think it depends on the person, but I am planning to have all the weight off in between 18-30 months.  I know that if I can keep myself focused on what I want and can stay on track then nothing will stop me!

What was your heaviest starting weight?- My heaviest weight I have been is 140.1kg

How do you stay motivated?- I stay motivated, by thinking of this change as a permanent lifestyle change and not a diet.  I believe that I am feeding my body better and making myself healthier will benefit and I know that I will achieve my goals by doing this and be happy within myself and that plays a big part in my motivation.

I also constantly remind myself why I started this journey and what goals I want to achieve and also reward myself when I achieve them, this keeps me driving forward and wanting to achieve my latter goals and keeps me motivated to achieve them!

How often do you train and what type of training do you do?- I have done alot of different styles of training, trying to determine what type of training is for me.
I have done normal "globo gym" training- ie: group fitness classes, boxing, cycle, bootcamp- which I loved- more so bootcamp because it was getting me outdoors and down and dirty and loved it!
I then did some swimming, which I still try to do once- three times a week, its a really great cardiovascular training.
I also have been doing for the past year Crossfit- which I have been doing for the past year, but due to injuries I have been pulling away from it.  Crossfit is a mixture of cardiovascular training in the form of running and rowing, kettlebells, body weight movements, such as squats, push ups, pullups, and strength training including one rep max's.  For more info visit www.crossfit.com
Right now I have been getting back into my Kung Fu.  I've had to start again from white sash, but its fantastically challenging both mentally and physically and that's where focus I think will remain for the future to build myself back up.  This training I am doing 3 times a week and also running 3 times a week- building up with intervals.  I will post a seperate blog on this

Can I add you on Facebook?- As long as you let me know you are a blog follower I am more than happy to accept you!  Since Facebook has changed if you request me as a friend, just send me a PM saying your a blog follower

What do you eat in a day- Because at the moment I am on a high value of Propoints- I spread my food out and base it on the Healthy Eating Guidelines.  I will post some sample menu's soon
