Inspirational Poem

I came across this poem when I was reading a friends blog and found it so true and inspirational.  I had to repost it, it reminds me where I've been and how I've felt some days

Autobiography in 5 Short Chapters

a poem by Portia Nelson
(published in her book: There's a Hole in My Sidewalk: The Romance of Self-Discovery)

Chapter I

I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk
I fall in.
I am lost ... I am helpless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

Chapter II

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend I don't see it.
I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place.
But, it isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

Chapter III

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in ... it's a habit ... but,
my eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

Chapter IV

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

Chapter V

I walk down another street.

Weigh In 25/6/11

So today came weigh in day again.  I weigh in on a Saturday morning, I just find that during the week I am too busy with work and training, and weighing in Saturday morning also gives me a motivating start to the weekend.  Anyway for those of you that weigh in Friday, Saturday and online users even Sunday, do you find that your working week flies by?  Mine goes so fast I look at my tracker thinking Day 5, hang on thats Wednesday!! Where did that week go to!  It just seems to sneak up on us quite quickly!

Today I had weigh in and lost another 1.5kg! I couldn't believe it, I knew that I had, had a good week, I had trained 4 days (was sick the rest) and tracked everything I ate.  But to pull 1.5kg I was over the moon, which now takes my total loss to 11.7kg in 8 weeks!

Todays weigh in!
To reward myself for getting such a massive number I bought a new cook book at the meeting, so I'm looking forward to trying out some of the new recipes!

Now onto a new week.  I have planned all my meals and am scheduling in exercise, I have just noticed right now that my surgically repaired knee is coming up bruised and a little swollen

So I am just icing it down at the moment and will see how it pulls up in the morning- might end up doing an early morning swim instead of a walk / run.  Hopefully its nothing serious- might just be over use, but we'll rest and ice it and see what happens!! Fingers crossed

Hope everyone has a fantastic week- remember to track, make good choices and think positive and you will achieve your goals!

Weigh In 11/6/11

Another Saturday arrives which also means for another weigh in arrives.  As most of you know weigh ins tend to inflict alot of different emotions on people.  For me, it creates- excitement, celebration, nervousness, and sometimes disappointment.

For me- I have had an awesome run since the start of my Weight Watchers Journey.

Week 1- Start at 127.1kg
Week 2- 124.4kg - 2.7kg loss
Week 3 - 122.4kg- 2kg loss
Week 4 - 120.4kg - 2kg loss
Week 5 - 119.2kg - 1.2kg loss
Week 6 - 118kg - 1.2kg loss

The run that I am having is just fantastic, I have been very strict on myself, but still eating the foods I want but tracking religiously!

This weeks results
So far now I have lost 9.1kg in 5 weeks at the best part about this is that I am now starting to get compliments from work mates and on a good day even family members.  My work mates say to me, "your looking thinner".  My parents say you finally look like your loosing the weight- granted kind of positive but not wholly.

I am stoked to be so close to my 10kg loss only 900g off.  Just gotta keep chipping away at it and tackling every day and every kilo as it comes

Start Weight - 127.1kg
Current Weight- 118kg
Total Loss - 9.1kg
Goal Weight - 60kg
Weight to go - 58kg
